'Connect UK' held a British science exhibition in August 2002 called 'Innovation UK'. This exhibition was created by the British Council in the UK. The exhibition raised awareness of the importance of science and also promoted British science, innovation and technology in Papua New Guinea.
We launched the exhibition on the 1st of August on the 14th floor of Deloitte Tower. Everybody was welcome to attend the opening ceremony. It was be launched by Sir Anthony Siaguru.
The British Council and Kina Securities sponsored this exhibition and the Kina Securities also sponsored a national essay competition on science and innovation for students in PNG which was officially announced on the same day.
The exhibition was on show again at the opening of the National Book Week at the National Library. Later in August, the exhibition panels were on show at different locations in Port Moresby.
